Warmer than usual weather has resulted in some vineyards seeing record profits.
The figures have been released today in the 2014 Viticulture Monitoring Report, by the Ministry for Primary Industries and the New Zealand Wine Growers Association.
It shows Marlborough vineyards have had a 25 percent increase in profit before tax for the 2013-2014 year.
In Hawke's Bay, there was a profit increase of 139 percent.
Winegrowers Chief Executive Philip Gregan says it's encouraging news after a number of difficult years in the industry.
