Updated 4.44pm: New Zealand Post has confirmed 71 call centre jobs are going in Christchurch, and another four are being disestablished in Wellington.

It will be relocating the Christchurch Call Centre to Auckland, where there will be 40 new roles.

New Zealand Post said it is part of its five year strategy announced in 2013 to invest in its integrated parcels, logistics and letters business.

It is expected that one call centre for both general mail, and Courier Post, will allow a more consistent customer experience.
