A much-needed financial boost for Marlborough's iconic cycle track.
The Queen Charlotte Track's been given just over 250-thousand dollars from the Government's fund to maintain our Great Rides.
The Marlborough District Council is also chipping in with almost 300-thousand from its Annual Plan.
The money's going towards re-routing nearly six-and-a-half kilometres of track in and around Ship Cove.
Queen Charlotte Track Incorporated chairman Rob Burn said they're eyeing a special milestone.
He said they want the changes to happen before the 250th anniversary celebrations of Captain Cooks arrival, in 2019.
