Clothing giant Glassons has apologised over the use of mannequins with visible ribs.
The thin display mannequins sparked a nationwide debate on whether it was an appropriate portrayal of the female form.
Hallenstein Glasson CEO Graeme Popplewell says the company's agreed its mannequins were unacceptable and has ordered their removal from display in all stores.
He says they've taken onboard the feedback they've received and unreservedly apologise for any upset they may have caused.
The removal of the offending mannequins is effective immediately, and Mr Popplewell says a more rigorous selection process will be adhered to in future.
