Federated Farmers is keeping tight lipped about the Shane Jones Fonterra furore.
Jones has openly criticised Fonterra's management, accusing them of being disconnected from farmers and calling for for chairman John Wilson to resign.
Dairy spokesperson Chris Lewis says he was surprised that Jones made the comments and says farmers haven't expressed an opinion either way to him about Fonterra's governance, but thinks he'll hear from them soon enough.
He'll field some opinions when Federated Farmers representatives meet for a conference in two weeks, but says he's just relieved to be talking about something other than bovis.
Fonterra's Shareholders' Council refused to comment on their satisfaction with the chairman John Wilson.
"We don't want to wade into other company's election processes, it's dangerous territory," he said.
