An Auckland councillor has criticised the narrow field of voices at a debate on the Super City's transport funding shortfall.
Around 650 people gathered last night to discuss transport proposals in the 10 year Budget.
Last night's council-organised debate covered issues such as proposed motorway tolls, regional fuel taxes and rates hikes.
Cycling advocates, Auckland Transport and Generation Zero were among those there.
But George Wood says there was no one from the AA, National Road Carriers or Road Transport Association - important groups who are vitally involved in the issues.
Councillor George Wood says everyone is in agreement.
"The general consensus is that we've got real problems.
"We haven't got any certainty from the government that they're going to be able to help us with the funding shortfall."
