More Government flood-support will fund jobs to help with the clean-up.
The Prime Minister has announced an extra $700,000 dollars has been unlocked for areas badly hit by the recent severe weather.
Chris Hipkins says the funding is to employ people that can help get homes and properties back to pre-flood condition.
It's to fund unskilled and semi-skilled jobs for locals to support farmers, growers and communities in the clean-up.Â
Part of the funding is also allocated to Rural Support Trusts, who know best what support is required for their communities.
Hipkins says many people will be needed to help with the clean-up of the city and that he's considering contracting people on job-seekers benefits to start that work soon.
