A person has been shot in Auckland’s eastern bays overnight, with multiple investigations underway as police search for the group responsible.
Police were called to a private address on Thatcher St, Mission Bay, around 9.15pm having been alerted to a suspected shooting.
One person was found with a gunshot wound at the property, said Auckland City CIB Detective Senior Sergeant Rebecca Kirk.
“It appears a group of people have attended the address and an altercation has taken place before the person was injured.
“Enquiries are now underway to identify and locate those responsible,” she said.

Police are investigating two other shootings across Auckland in recent weeks.
A person was wounded after shots were fired through the front door of an Onehunga home nearly four weeks ago. The getaway car was found days later but the shooters remain at large.
Last week a man arrived at an Auckland hospital alone with a gunshot wound.
Police said the incident happened at a Māngere property early on Thursday morning.
