A person has died five days after they were injured in a motorcycle crash in South Auckland.

Police said they were called to the scene of a motorcycle crash on Bairds Rd in Ōtara just after 5pm last Monday, which was Auckland Anniversary holiday.

The rider died in hospital last Friday, succumbing to their critical injuries.

Police said they were continuing to inquire into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
