The latest stage of Auckland's waterfront redevelopment opens today.
Nearly a hectare of old industrial land in Daldy Street has been turned into a green park and public space.
Waterfront Auckland's Ralph Webster says it will change the feel of Daldy Street.
"That's the main pedestrian street that links Jellicoe Street North Wharf where all the restaurants are, down to Victoria Park and the south."
Mr Webster says the opening will be a family affair.
"Backyard cricket, workshops and other games, and the opportunity to play with the new water features and the new slides."
The area's centrepiece is two play structures, which have been made from old silos.
