
Police are speaking to the driver of a vehicle believed to have been involved in a fatal altercation in East Auckland this morning.
A 41-year-old man died following a fight outside a karaoke bar in Gooch Place in Somerville around 2:15am.
At least one car is said to have fled the scene immediately afterwards.
Police say a driver is assisting them with their investigation into the death.
Detective Sergeant Albie Alexander says police are hoping to release the dead man's name after tomorrow's post-mortem examination is completed.
