Cycling: NZ team named for Road Cycling World Championships

Commonwealth Games medallists Jack Bauer and Linda Villumsen will lead the New Zealand team at the Road Cycling World Championships later this month.

BikeNZ has named a 10-strong team for the event in northern Spain.

Bauer will be joined by fellow World Tour professionals George Bennett and Greg Henderson in the menâ s road race.

Villumsen and Glasgow team-mates Emily Collins, Reta Trotman and Joanne Kiesanowski will ride the women's event.

Jesse Sergent will contest the elite menâ s time trial, while James Oram and Dion Smith will ride the under-23 time trial and road race.
