Craig McMillan is turning his back on the relative comfort of the commentary box for a full time place in the Black Caps coaching team.

McMillan has been confirmed as the full time batting coach, having held the position in an interim capacity during the successful West Indies tour.

He believes his work as a TV commentator has actually been beneficial to his coaching.

McMillan has been appointed for the next two years.
