UPDATED 8.45PM: Armed police are swarming an Auckland beach this evening.
The Armed Offenders Squad and police negotiators are at a house on Eastern Beach, in the city's south east.
Details are scarce, but it's believed a man inside has a gun with him.
Police have a cordon in place, but say the man is not a danger to the public.
