It's all rather obvious why out-of-towners are drawn to Hawke's Bay.
This is a region that does the simple and complex so well.
Whether it be producing the country's best chardonnay and syrah, or hosting the nation's best sporting teams, it's hard not to wake up without a smile on your face because you just know the region is sure to turn on its charm.
I have been living in Hawke's Bay for about a year and the step from being a big city girl to one of New Zealand's agricultural hubs was a bit of a step into the unknown.
But looking back over the past ten months, there's no place I'd rather be.
I love exploring Hawke's Bay's beaches, wineries, and boutique restaurants and cafes, as well as walking over its rolling hills and picturesque mountain trails.
Its Mediterranean climate, Art Deco culture and relaxed vibe have me hooked!
