Summer's underway, and for many that means their family holidays are just beginning.

But that usually means long trips in the car to reach the family bach - trips that can be made even longer thanks to gridlocked traffic as the whole country heads on holiday.

Hauraki radio host and Herald columnist Matt Heath has come up with a list of ways to make these long journeys more bearable, from banning devices to letting fights play out.

He joined Tim Roxborogh to share more tips and discuss all things road-trip related.
