Jack Tame doesn't usually get excited about cars, but this morning he shares his admiration for electric Teslas.
"I love Teslas for what they represent. A friend summed it up to me beautifully the other day:
"Buy any new vehicle these days, he said, and any vehicle is likely to come with all sort of automated and computerised systems - the traction controls and all that sort of stuff. Half of them, you won't even know they exist.
"Any new vehicle in 2017 is a car featuring computer technology. But buy a Tesla and it's the other way around - it's a computer featuring a car."
Many cities around the world are rushing to build infrastructure for the cars, and some economists say switching New Zealand's cars to electric makes a lot of sense.
