Australia correspondent Murray Olds brings us the latest on the Bob Carr and Winston Peters skirmish, and Pauline Hanson’s remarks towards Mehreen Faruqi.  

Bob Carr was the NSW Premier for ten years, before becoming Foreign Minister.  

Carr’s office has confirmed to ABC that he’s taking legal action against Winston Peters, who called him “nothing more than a Chinese puppet” on RNZ yesterday.  

Murrary Olds told Mike Hosking “Can this be settled with a handshake, or a trans-Tasman phone call? I don’t know.” 

And in the Australian Senate, Murray Olds reports that Mehreen Faruqi’s lawyers have said that ‘Hanson must be living under a rock, or stupid to not know she’s a Muslim’.
