Winston Peters.
If you're part of his voter base, then he reckons he's got a job for you.
How are your teaching skills, because he wants you to teach students to drive.

He wants getting a driver's license to become a core subject at school, and if you're an older person and you've got a bit of time on your hands - then you're someone that Peters thinks should volunteer for the job.
Is it an odd policy for Peters to come out with?
Yes, on the face of it.
But there is good reasoning behind this. He says it will improve law and order.
I don't know where he gets this statistic from - he doesn't say - but he says 60% of Maori who commit crime typically list their first offence as driving without a licence.
And he says in some communities, they are kids who've fallen through the school system, and can't sit their licence because they're not literate. They can't read and write so they can't sit the written test.
He says if they can get a licence, then they can then contribute to the economy.
And he makes a valid point, I think.
If you look at one of the skills shortages in this country, one of the areas where we're bringing in migrants to fill jobs, it's heavy transport drivers. And that's madness.
It's madness that we don't have enough people in this country to drive heavy transport.
So he wants older members of the community and mums and dads to volunteer some time to help teens to get their drivers licenses.
I think Peters should show us how it's done.
I'd pay good money to see that.
Peters teaching a high school student how to drive.
Imagine.
'What are you doing, you fool. You're an idiot. Put the damn thing in gear...."
"....Take the handbrake off, you clown."
But his idea, in principal, has some merit.
Labour has proposed something similar in it's "Future of Work" paper and has considered offering it as part of NCEA.
And the government says schools can already offer to teach driving if they so choose.
But Peters would go one step further and make driving a core subject at school.
Good idea do you think?
And would you volunteer?
Is this a smart policy from Peters?
