Pressure to save Chan, Sukumaran continues

The fight continues to try and save two members of the Bali Nine from death row.

Indonesian authorities have given permission for Andrew Chan and Myuran Sukumaran to be moved to a prison island where they'll face the firing squad.

Thousands of Australians are threatening to boycott travelling to Bali if the decision is not reversed but President Joko Widodo has vowed not to succumb to outside pressure.

Deputy opposition leader Tanya Plibersek, whose husband was convicted of conspiracy to import heroin back in 1986 but has turned his life around, had this message for the Indonesian government.

"If you want your own people off death row in other countries, then you have to show mercy at home. I've been to Bali a few times, probably like most Australians, but I'm not sure if boycotting Bali makes a difference in Jakarta unfortunately."

Abbott issues another plea

Australia's prime minister Tony Abbott has renewed his plea for mercy for the two Bali Nine members on death row.

Authorities have given permission for Myuran Sukumaran and Andrew Chan to be moved to a prison island for execution, although a date is yet to be determined.

The Prime Minister says he hopes Indonesia can make a last minute decision change.

"My plea even at this late stage is for Indonesia to be as responsive to us as it expects other countries to be to them when they plead for the life of their citizens on death row overseas."
