Cameroon forces have killed 41 Boko Haram fighters in the country's Far North, one day after a large attack by the militant group.
Thirty four were killed in one incident and another seven in a separate ambush.
One soldier died in the fighting.
The battles followed an attack by 1000 militants on a military camp near the northern border and forced troops stationed there to flee.
The base has since been recaptured.
