The Prime Minister says New Zealanders can rest assured Pharmac is very deliberately protected in our trade agreement.
US President Donald Trump's lashed out at foreign governments that "extort unreasonably low prices" from US pharmaceutical manufacturers and announced plans to lower drug prices for Americans.
He says medicine that costs a few dollars in a foreign country costs hundreds of dollars in America and they'll no longer be cheated by foreign countries.
But Jacinda Ardern says she's not aware of any discussions between our Government and the US on the matter.
She says we have always been at great pains to protect Pharmac because it's good for New Zealanders.
