Marama Davidson is off to the Middle East today to take part in a peace flotilla.
The Green MP is heading to Gaza to join a Women's peace flotilla which aims to highlight what she calls a dire humanitarian situation in the Palestinian territory caused by an Israeli blockade.
Ms Davidson sees no reason for the Israeli defence Force to not let them through.
"We see no reason at all why the Israelis would want to stop us. The boats will be of course inspected for any weapons, we've all signed a pledge that we come in peace."
In the past, such flotillas have been met with a military response by the Israeli Government.
In 2010 nine activists were killed when Israeli naval commandos boarded ships involved in a similar expedition.
But Davidson said that's a risk in all sorts of situations that politicians can be involved in.
"We are a peaceful flotilla, we are notable women of longstanding peaceful activism, I see no reason why we should be presented with any danger."
