A man has died in a crash in North Canterbury, after his car went off the road and hit trees south of Kaikoura.
It happened at about 2:30 this morning.
A stretch of State Highway One near the Conway River Kaikoura and Culverden is still closed, while the Serious Crash Unit investigates.
