Save the Children is worried at least 2000 children in remote parts of Vanuatu are at risk of potentially deadly water-borne diseases.
It says communities are facing the prospect of dwindling fresh water supplies, in the wake of Cyclone Pam.
The agency says drinking water reserves have been contaminated, and locals say they have nothing else, and no choice but to drink from them.
Save the Children has distributed more than 16,000 litres of drinking water to vulnerable communities, and is preparing to ship five thousand litres to Tongoa Island in the Shepard Islands.
