MetService is warning of heavy snow tomorrow over Banks Peninsula.
Falls are expected down to 300 metres, with smaller falls to nearly sea level.
There are also warnings of extreme wind along Coastal Otago and Banks Peninsula.
Severe southwest gales are forecast until late tomorrow morning.
