The large power cut affecting central Auckland has now been reduced to a much smaller area.

Electricity was cut to parts of Ponsonby and Freemans Bay, as well as around Aotea Square, after lines came down on Franklin Road.

Auckland Transport was warning of traffic delays in the Auckland CBD, and several sets of traffic lights were also out.
