Auckland Police have identified a young man found unconscious in Remuera last night.

He was found on Peach Parade and is now in a coma in Auckland Hospital.

Detective Senior Sergeant Andrew Saunders said the family of the 17 year old are now with him in hospital.

He said they're investigating what might have happened to him.

Police want to speak to anyone who was near Peach Parade between 5pm and nine last night. 

Detective Senior Sergeant, Andrew Saunders said the man had no wallet on him and no identification of any kind, but was wearing some distinctive items of clothing including a Mickey Mouse watch.
