Human waste, vandalism, intimidation and rubbish are all part of daily life for eastern Christchurch residents living by a very busy bus stop.

Fed up locals are pushing the council to relocate the bus stop which is on the corner of Buckleys Road and Norwich Street to behind Eastgate Mall.

Peter Jasper said tenants are cleaning up human faeces and urine, and constantly painting over graffiti.

He said they're sick of it, especially the damage done with abandoned shopping trolleys.

"They're used as battering rams to break the glass bus stops. That happens on a monthly basis. Residents have people wandering up their driveways asking for money for busses."

There'll be an opportunity for residents to express concerns at a community board meeting next week.
