
Two New Zealanders have been released in Thailand after being arrested for an alleged 'dine and dash'.
Brian Finn and his son Luke were arrested at Phuket Airport after their names were put on a black list.
They were being held at the Patong jail over an unpaid restaurant bill from 2013.
Thai police obtained an arrest warrant at the time but the pair had left the country.
A Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade spokesperson confirmed its embassy in Bangkok provided consular advice to two New Zealanders arrested in Phuket.
The spokesperson said both have now been released.
In the intervening two years the resort has changed management.
