The Islamic Womens' Council says the Government and security agencies need to stop making leading comments about terrorism.
The SIS has confirmed that none of the so-called 'jihadi brides' heading off to join Islamic State, actually left from New Zealand.
The agency made the comments in December, backed by the Government.

Islamic Womens' Council spokesperson Anjum Rahman said such vague statements raise unnecessary alarm.
"We first had less than 12, then we got down to a few, then we got down to one or two, now it turns out it's zero from New Zealand".
Rahman said these sorts of things put a spotlight on their community.
She said she's heard reports of Muslim women being yelled at or abused on the street.
"We would like some assurance, both from the SIS and the from Government, that they are acting in good faith on this because people suffer when they get things wrong".
