UPDATED 5.23PM A billboard outside an Auckland church attacking Donald Trump has been stolen but the church will resurrect it.

It was taken in broad daylight while the minister, Glynn Cardy, was inside the church conducting a funeral service.

The billboard outside St Luke's Church, Remuera, depicts the Republican presidential candidate looking across at Jesus Christ nailed to the cross while holding a hammer in his hand and declaring: "I don't like losers".

Reverend Cardy is not sure why the thieves stole the sign - but he said if the board is returned, there'll be no questions asked.

"I'd love it to return. If somebody wants to drop it at the church door, all is forgiven."
