UPDATED 8.57am: A car's reversed into an Auckland service station early this morning in a ram-raid style robbery.

Police responded to reports just before 4am that a person wearing a black hoodie and wielding a knife had smashed through the closed doors of a Z petrol station on the Te Atatu Peninsula.

The station was on night pay.

The attendant was threatened and the robber got away with cash and cigarettes.
