UPDATED 9.10PM: A search is to resume tomorrow for a young man missing at the Hunua Falls, south of Auckland.

A group were swimming at the popular falls when two members of the party got into trouble.  

One person was taken to hospital by the Westpac Helicopter in a moderate condition, a St John spokesman said.

Police said another went underwater and did not resurface.  

Senior sergeant Jono Chappell said the scene is being guarded overnight.

The Wellington-based police dive squad is tonight travelling to the Auckland to help with the search.
