Police are appealing for witnesses after a 40-year-old man was dropped at Christchurch Hospital with a gunshot wound to his head.
The man, who has known gang connections, was dropped at the hospital at 1.45 this morning by two men in a green Subaru station wagon.
The car was found by police late this morning in Addington.
Detective Senior Sergeant Jason Stewart says inquiries into the identifies of the two men who took the man to hospital are ongoing.
Anyone who may have seen the car early this morning is being urged to contact police.
