One person is being treated for smoke inhalation at the scene of a house fire in Royal Oak, and the fire service is treating a vegetation fire in Kumeu as suspicious.

Fire services were called to a Pah Rd property in Royal Oak just before 2.30 this afternoon after the first level of the three-storey house caught alight.

Three trucks attended the scene and the fire was now under control, a fire services spokesman said.

One person was home and was treated by ambulance staff for smoke inhalation.

Shortly before 2pm, four fire crews were called to attend a 2.5000sq m vegetation fire in Kumeu.

The blaze was now under control, the spokesman said, and the fire was being treated as suspicious.
