A porn addict who admitted making intimate recordings of people using public toilets in New Plymouth, has been sentenced has been sentenced to community detention.

45-year-old Gary Fenwick disguised cameras as clothes hooks and smoke detectors at two different venues in the city.

Fenwick was caught when he returned the night after a show at the TSB Showplace in July to retrieve the cameras, causing staff to become suspicious and call police.

Judge Chris Sygrove pointed out that Fenwick was remorseful and had no previous convictions, before sentencing him to four months community detention, 100 hours community work and six months supervision.
