A Christchurch motel owner has described finding the body of a man at the centre of a police investigation.
Police were called to Edmond's Park around 3am yesterday.
Ferry Motel owner Mark Guo said he was woken up by some guests and followed them into the park.
He found the man on the ground and rang emergency services.
Mark Guo said he turned the man over and "found something on his chest."
Guo said he can't say what he found on the man's chest.
A section of road was closed while police investigated the scene yesterday, which saw forensic photographers and two police cars investigating the crime.
