A national baby products chain is facing charges over the safety of two of its models of cots.
The Commerce Commission has laid nine charges against baby products store Baby City, for failing to comply with safety standards for household cots.
The charges relate to Milano 3-in-1 Sleigh Cots and Milano Phoenix Cots sold between October 2014 and October last year.
The Commission alleges the Sleigh and Phoenix Cots had structural defects like a "snag point" that could catch on clothing.
It also claims the packaging, labelling and mattress base did not comply with safety standards.
Baby City will appear in the Auckland District Court next month on charges of breaching the Fair Trading Act.
