Apple's brand new, much touted product, the Apple Watch, may have a critical design flaw.

Those with tattoos may experience serious lagging with some of the watch's features. 

Tattoo ink reportedly interferes with sensors that the Apple Watch's distinctive features heavily rely on. 

The flaw will be unwelcome news for the Apple company, who released the new product in a handful of countries on April 24th.

One watch owner posted to Apple's reddit help page.

The message has already sparked an online response dubbed Tattoogate.

The discovery comes as Apple works  to fix its last design flaw dubbed bendgate.

It is being suggested Apple will build its new iPhones with the same material as their watches to stop the product from potentially bending. 

The Apple Watch is yet to be released in New Zealand.
