There's another delay to the final Commerce Commission decision on what price Chorus can charge for the use of its copper line network.
But it has decided that the higher price can be backdated to the December 1.
The price was to have been settled in April next year, but that's now pushed out to September, after Telco's asked for more time to make submissions.
Telecommunications Commissioner Dr Stephen Gale says wholesale prices have gone down overall as a result of a $10 reduction in broadband prices and increasing uptake of the fibre network.
"The indications from the modelling at this stage are that the copper line prices will go up by $4.
"So overall, wholesale prices have gone down and because the downstream market's competitive, we expect that to flow through to customers."
