ANDREW DICKENS: Music

Lana Del Rey Lust for Life - Andrew's verdict: 8/10

"This is Lana Del Rey's fourth album, which is about two more than I ever expected. It's unexpectedly good.  It returns to the feeling of her first album Born To Die.  A retro sound from the future - the sound of music that left Earth from Las Vegas in 1968 and was received by aliens who thought it was groovy and then transmitted it back.  Riding a fine line just above parody it sounds both old and modern at the same time.  Here's a word for it: swoozy. Although at 16 tracks it's a bit too long - there's only so much swoozy you can take before you feel queasy."
