UK Correspondent Rod Liddle told Mike Hosking he has done over 22,000 engagements by himself since 1952.

He said it marks a break with the old school of royals.

"The people who keep a stiff upper lip ... and a very rude to foreigners when they get the chance. And the new school of royals, who like to share their emotional incontinence with the world."

Liddle is referring to a documentary that aired recently, featuring Princes William and Harry revealing how they felt after their mother's death.
