After eight months of simulating "life on Mars", six scientists have emerged from their Hawaiian habitat.
NASA and the University Hi-Seas programme put the scientists in a dome on a Mars-like volcano on the island.
The project is designed to look at the practicalities of living on the planet.
It also looks at how a group of people cope in isolation with no privacy
Computer scientist Laura Lark was one of the six inside.
She told Mike Hosking she doesn't think it's possible to pack up and move to Mars.
"While it's a technical problem to be solved, it really is more of a matter of support and effort that would make me question whether we could really go now."
