The weather's getting the blame for retailers' woes this summer.
According to a survey by Retail NZ, almost half our shops missed their sales targets for the first three months of this year.
Greg Harford of Retail NZ told Mike Hosking it appears the lack of sunshine had an affect.
"Shopping's a great Kiwi family past time but we do like to do that when the weather's good and the reality is over the summer months summer was pretty lousy round most of the country....That definitely kept shoppers at home."
