Placing warning signs ahead of all permanent speed cameras would be a quick win for road safety.Â
Of the 10 new cameras added to Auckland and Northland roads last year, only one, on State Highway 1 in Kawakawa, is set to have signage. Â
But the AA says signs remind people who are unintentionally speeding to slow down in high-risk locations.Â
AA Road safety spokesperson Dylan Thomsen says this would be an easy measure for the Government to action. Â
He says within a couple of months, all 60 permanent cameras across the country could be signposted, costing a tiny fraction of what we spend in the transport space.Â
