A bidding war for the rights to New Zealand rugby matches could be just around the corner.
It's understood TVNZ and Spark could be joining forces in a pitch for screening rights, which provide a massive challenge for current broadcaster Sky TV.
Former NZ Rugby chief executive David Moffett told Mike Hosking says other major companies are sniffing around as well.
"Amazon and also Google. I've been saying this for several year"s now, it's all moving to streaming, that's how people will be digesting their product in the future.
David Moffett believes it could lead to a big shake-up in Super Rugby.
"The ideal would be a 12-team competition home and away. Where you actually find those 12 teams is a moot point."
