Criminals being deported from Australia will come as a huge cost to New Zealand.
Police are concerned the deportees will join together to commit crime and the estimated cost of re-offending will be $126.5 million within six years.
Labour MP Kelvin Davis told Mike Hosking most New Zealanders would be appalled to think we'll have to foot such a bill.
"Look, these projected costs of reoffending are estimated before last year's law change, so the Government knew about this and I honestly think that New Zealanders are having to foot the bill for Australia's problem."
