This week's ASB Good as Gold winner is Jess Neute of Auckland.

Nominator Sandra Graham writes: "Hi Mike and ASB. I believe Jess Neute is deserving of something special. Jess is 21 years old and a third year nursing student. Come this November, I will be lucky enough to call her my daughter in law when she marries by son Billy.

In the last few years, Jess has had it a bit rough. Three years ago she broke her back in a motorcycle speedway accident. And last year the same thing happened to my son. Then, just one month ago, Jess came home to find her Mum collapsed in her bedroom. She had passed away from an undiagnosed heart issue.

This has been devastating for Jess, an only child. She really didn't deserve this. It makes planning her wedding even harder. Luckily, her Mum was able to help choose her wedding dress—but sadly she won't get to see her daughter walk down the aisle.

I am worried for the wedding plans now because of all the pressure put on this young couple. She is so beautiful and positive despite all this bad luck.

She is like the daughter I never had. She touches my heart. I love her dearly. Mike is there any way you and the team at ASB can do something special for this amazing girl?"
