We see no point in attending the sentencing because we know that justice will never be done.

Despite full CCTV footage, the use of weapons and witness testimony our justice system came up with manslaughter for one and other walked free. We do not want to support injusticeand therefore there is no point in attending.

During the trial we heard past history of injury and drug abuse taken into in consideration.

However their criminal backgrounds and other recent criminal acts leading up to the 10th of June was hidden from the jury because the New Zealand justice system does not allow such offending to be taken into account. The concept of a ‘fair trial’ is indeed fair for the criminal but what about the victims?

This was a job well done by defence counsel and clinical psychologistsin supporting the murder. We wonder how you have a decent night sleep since you are so out of touch with humanity. You have set a good precedent to the future generation of criminals.

We invite anyone who has been subject to drug abuse, parental neglect and a troubled childhood to commit the highest crime known to mankind because there will be government funded lawyers, psychologistsand other support people who will be at your service to save you from the consequences.

There is a group of highly educated people out there who support criminals to get back into society. The most shameful thing was seeing these people giving biased evidence during the trial. Their opinions counted more than the facts. Unfortunately no one could differentiate this.

We had a good chance to set a precedent for other youth walking our streets with weapons and committing similar crimes. Unfortunately this did not happen. The last thing we wanted was for Dad’s death to be in vain. Unfortunately this has happened. There has been no remorse from the perpertrators.

Living in a society as good citizens and contributing positively to the economy has given us nothing but grief. We wanted justice to take place though our court system and initially we were confident and had faith in our system but now this has been shattered.

Now we feel like idiots going to the court everyday, sitting in the court room and going through the heartache of watching the CCTV footage over and over again. We watched how the offenders changed roles to become victims and our Dad became insignificant.

Finally we would like to thank the public for the support they have given to our family.

We will not be commenting further.

Thank you.
